Document Delivery (D.D.)

Article and book chapters request

SISSA users can request copies of journal articles and book chapters not owned by SISSA by filling in the DOCUMENT DELIVERY FORM.

Please note: if you find the item indexed in the SISSA Discovery Service search results, you can automatically insert its bibliographic reference into the D.D. request by selecting  "SISSA Library services: request of articles/books" instead of filling the form in by hand.

According to the copyright rules most of the articles can be delivered in printed format ONLY. Usually, copies of the articles are provided in less than one week. Requests sent to libraries abroad may take longer.  Once the document is available, the D.D. service will inform the user via email. The document has to be collected at the loan desk within 7 days.

Book acquisition 

To request a book acquisition please fill the BOOK ACQUISITION FORM.

To request another copy of a book already present in SISSA collection, send an e-mail to

Book request

SISSA users can request books not owned by SISSA by filling in the INTERLIBRARY LOAN FORM.

  • Before submitting a request, check if the book/e-book is available online or locally by searching for it in SISSA Catalog or SISSA Discovery Service (remember to limit your search by selecting the option "SISSA Catalog Only").

  • If the book is not available, please fill in the INTERLIBRARY LOAN FORM.

Once the book has arrived the user will be informed via email and can pick it up at the loan desk after signing a receipt. The book must be returned to the SISSA Library within the expiration date indicated by the provider library. In case of any damage or loss of the book the ILL applicant will be charged a fine.
